On Tuesday, August 12, at 7 p.m. US Central Time, live on Zoom, Dave McKerracher will deliver a Maurin Academy lecture on “Nature, Nurture and Natality.” Beyond Left or Right critiques of capitalism, state, or power, McKerracher will, with the help of thinkers including Wendell Berry, help us get to a root of all our crises commonly neglected by critical theory. We will have time for questions from the audience.
Dave is the founder/director of Theory Underground, a teaching, research, and publishing platform by and for dropout workers with earbuds and burnt out post-grads who want to understand “The Situation” as a means towards figuring out the conditions of possibility for The Good Life.
McKerracher’s books are: Waypoint: Timenergy, Critical Media Theory, and Culture War and TIMENERGY: Why You Have No Time or Energy. Theory Underground has also recently published an anthology called Underground Theory, which features works by famous authors in the theory scene alongside as cutting edge work by fellow travelers and students of TU.
