Easter Island Documentary Film Showing Coming Up!

Dr. Miriam Dominguez introduces us to Sergio Mata’u Rapu and Elena Kouneski Rapu, whose independent documentary Eating Up Easter was picked up by PBS and helped to introduce the world to the richness of culture and the challenges of the Rapa Nui people who live on Easter Island, which include handling a tremendous amount of tourism and all the waste it produces. The Maurin Academy will be hosting a live screening and discussion with the filmmakers on June 24.

For those who want to watch the film live with them and engage them in a question and answer session afterwards, you can register for the event on Eventbrite here (we will also offer a limited time access to the film and record the Q & A in case you miss it): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/904423614377?aff=oddtdtcreator
