The Maurin Academy is a 501c3 non profit organization for public education. We are engaged in regenerative studies, including critiques of existing practices in agriculture and in how we treat the environment, examining the benefits of more local and organic agriculture, and discussing from heterodox perspectives the economic, political, social and religious ideas that can be brought to bear on environmental and social problems. We are a work in progress but we are inspired by the Catholic Worker movement’s ideas of fostering diverse roundtable discussions and fostering the idea of agronomic universities that originated with that movement’s founding. We are hoping to provide more seminars, short series and other opportunities for public education, and we are the host of the podcast Dustbowl Diatribes.
